Nelson Viveros
Actor, Teacher & Translator

Nelson Viveros first became involved in theatre in 1992 with the group Fingers and Thumbs founded and directed by Jennifer S. Hartley. He began studying drama and speech through Trinity College London representatives in Paraguay and obtained two associate degrees from the same institution. He has taken part in a number of other theatre productions with various theatre groups from Paraguay and has participated in a number of national and international theatre festivals. In addition he acted in the Paraguayan film Candida Candida which was presented at the 2004 Latin American Film Festival. Nelson has taught drama in a number of educational institutions for the last seven years working with both primary and secondary school children and has participated in a number of educational outreach projects. Nelson co-founded Paraguay’s first theatre magazine that was in circulation for two years before being transformed into a cultural weekly newspaper of free distribution that has been running for four years, he is currently the writing editor of the newspaper.
