Football in the camp

Football plays a major role in Kyangwali refugee camp - it is a way for different nationalities to bond, it provides exercise, it is fun for the children and it can even provide a means for the older boys to earn a small income. The problem is that they lack football boots and strips, they even lack footballs with many of the children tying trash together with plants to make a football. Theatre versus Oppression started a project to collect used football boots and strips to send to Kyangwali. Our biggest problem has been the cost of postage. As a result so far we have only managed to send out a small amount of what has been collected. At the same time however some schools and football clubs have said they will make a commitment to collect and send boots direct to the camp.

If you would like to help please contact us at www.theatreversusoppression.com  - even sending out one pair of football boots can change a life!
